The Difference Between Paint / Powder Coating and Galvanized Steel
Paint / Powder Coating creates a surface barrier over the steel. As long as that finish stays intact, it can provide protection. But once the coating is scratched, chipped, or worn through, the exposed steel can begin to rust quickly.
Galvanized steel is coated with zinc to help prevent rust and corrosion. Even if the surface gets scratched or abraded, the steel still has added protection. That makes galvanized panels a lower-maintenance, longer-lasting option for ranch, livestock, and arena use.
